Smile more often

Smiling quickly elevates your mood, as established by science. When you talk to others at school, try to smile more. Fake it till you make it by forcing a grin when you see a familiar face in the corridor or hear a joke in class, even if you aren't feeling it.

Talk to a friend if something’s bothering you.

Getting things off your chest can be a huge stress-buster. Don't hold something within if it's on your mind. Talk to a buddy about how you're feeling if you're anxious about a forthcoming project, fight with a loved one, or over a subpar mark.

Try not to take negativity from others too hard.

It's probably not your fault if someone is rude to you at school. Try to keep in mind that nobody is perfect and consider what could be happening in their lives to cause them to act in a hostile manner towards you. Instead of lingering on it and becoming enraged and disturbed, try your best to brush off an ugly glance or a rude statement and get on with your day.

Build your self-esteem.

Sometimes, the only way to fend off negativity is to build a strong self-image. When you believe in yourself and have a positive self-talk, external factors will not faze you. You can do this by practicing mindfulness, saying positive affirmations, and forgiving yourself when you make mistakes.

Manage your stress levels.

Again, this could be done by cultivating mindfulness, yoga, and exercise into your daily routine. If you are going through a stressful period, considering talking to a therapist because professionals have the best tools to help you get through it.

Welcome to The Positivity Project

As a group of college students, we have a lot on our plate. When our group came together to create a project, we thought to ourselves, "What do we need as a community?" and we realized that we could all use some form of support and positive encouragement. The Positivity Project is just that- an initiative to spread positivity and foster a supportive environment for students to thrive in!

Self-care. Productivity. Connection.

Our website has a collection of tips and tools to help students navigate the challenges of life. We have segregated topics into three categories, namely Personal Life, Professional Life, and Social Life to help you find just what you are looking for!
